UNM Observatory
The University of New Mexico’s Campus Observatory contains a 14-inch telescope with CCD camera inside its protective dome. The observatory is open every Friday evening for the locals to stargaze. Volunteers from The Albuquerque Astronomical Society (TAAS) and UNM’s Department of Physics and Astronomy assist with interpretation, and viewing through additional telescopes.
When not stargazing, the observatory assists in faculty research in areas such as cosmology, galactic astronomy and solar physics.
